Making sure your dog or cat stays healthy is a high priority at Vetcare. With system-strengthening vaccinations and booster shots and professional pet wellness care from our veterinarians and staff, you'll be able to give your animal companion the best chance for a long and healthful life. We offer complete vaccination programs for cats and dogs of any age, and always base our preventative decisions on consultation with you as our patient’s owner.

Puppy and Kitten Wellness

We recommend bringing a new animal companion in for their first exam as early as 6 weeks of age. If your pet is older, it is a good idea to schedule an appointment right away. Puppies and kittens will receive a complete vaccination package and booster shot series. Following a discussion regarding the lifestyle you foresee for your animal family member, we'll determine preventative options that will be the best fit for them.

Adult Pet Wellness

Adult pets need regular updates to make sure each vaccine and preventative treatment they receive stays effective. Vaccination updates will be given during your companion's annual physical exam and wellness check, as well as flea, tick and heartworm treatments with further veterinary diagnostics on hand if we detect anything out of the ordinary.

Senior Pet Wellness

For pets aged 7 years and older, our veterinarians recommend increasing the frequency of check-ins each year as needed. Based on your senior cat or dog's overall health, we can schedule exams and vaccination updates on an annual or twice yearly basis. We may also recommend blood work to keep closer tabs on your companion's internal health, organ function, and overall wellness. Blood work can also help screen for diabetes and other health issues that can affect pets in seniority.

Pet Vaccinations and Preventative Medicine

There is no schedule of vaccinations and preventatives that can apply to every patient. Each pet is different from the next, and every method of prevention we provide is based on your dog or cat's specific needs. Your companion's complete wellness package may include a combination of:

  • Physical exam
  • Spay/neuter
  • De-worming
  • Complete vaccination package
  • Heartworm preventative
  • Flea and tick preventative
  • Wellness blood work
  • Homecare consultation with our staff
